Customize d-pad functions?
My hard buttons have recently stopped working, except for the dpad, scroll wheel, and the power button.
Replacement is unfortunately not an option. Is there a program that I can use to customize the d-pad's functions to "ok/close" or open the camera or web browser, etc?

I highly recommend AEButton Plus. Plus to boot it has an unlimited free trail.
