USB connection with PC's broadband?

What are the settings to connect the Mogul to my broadband on my PC using the usb cable. I get very slow 1xrtt speeds at my house and would like to use my existing broadband connection to connect to the internet and bypass Sprint.
I am using Vista.
Thanks.
Larry

Re: USB connection with PC's broadband?

I do not think that there are any 'settings' that you can change. Your phone acts like a modem and will only connect to what it's told to (i.e. the ##number that you see when you connect to $print). You can change the number in which to connect to a different service (which may or may not give you a higher seed), but that's about it.

Re: USB connection with PC's broadband?

Why would you want to use your 6800 with your broadband connection at home if you have a PC instead?

For example, I could use the high speed internet to sync with Dashwire. It worked on cingular and the KJAM. I do not remember the setting for the KJAM. There must be some connection settings to allow the Mogul to use the PC internet connection.

Re: USB connection with PC's broadband?

when you first established the ActiveSync connection between the 6800 and the PC there should have been an option to allow wireless data connections on the device, if youcheck that box the phone won't use the computers data connection. You should check to see if this option box is checked or not on the computer. Open AS File>connection settings. and it's the last check box on there. "Allow wireless connections on device when connected to the desktop." also check that the "this computer is connected to" drop down is set to "the internet"

Re: USB connection with PC's broadband?

That worked but it is relatively show. I get 185 kbsec versus my pc speed of 6000.
I was getting around 60 on 1xrtt so it is an improvement.
Thanks

Re: USB connection with PC's broadband?

uh... why not just use the built in wifi? even if you dont have a wireless router at home, you can pick up a G rated one quite cheap now that N is gaining popularity
