Question about imagio patches and tweaks

Will the patches and fixes that are made for the HTC pro touch 2 work with the Imagio? I recently changed from the TP2 to the Imagio and was wondering if all of the stuff that I had applied to the TP2 will work with this phone?

Re: Question about imagio patches and tweaks

Got the Imagio this morning and I've been installing some of my apps and tweaks that had been on my tp2. So far I've found that the file extension cab does not work. I've installed it a number of times, sometimes on the device and sometimes on the sd. As soon as I install and try to use file explorer it crashes until I remove the file extension cab and then all is well again.

I'll have to work on this more later because I have to get my wife to the airport soon. It would be a good idea to post what you've installed and what works and what doesn't work.

I'll post more later as I have to time work on this more.

Re: Question about imagio patches and tweaks

Ok, I managed to get a few apps loaded before I have to leave in a few minutes.

Does Not work List (if you find differently please let us know)
File Extension Cab
NoPushInternet

Works
Total Commander
Google Maps
Kinoma
PHM Regedit

The problem with the file extension cab not working is that is what I use to add the internet sharing that is loaded on the phone to the programs list and to the applications list.

I'll try more stuff later when I have time.

Re: Question about imagio patches and tweaks

I won't be able to put anything on untill tom. As soon as I do I am interested in a few of the cabs that I installed. I think that Win 6.5 may prohibit the installation of unnasigned code?

Programs I am interested

Slide to unlock
ICS
some of the display hacks
GPU improvement hacks

Re: Question about imagio patches and tweaks

There were no problems with those on the leaked 6.5 roms released. So my guess is that even if you coulnd't install them now a registry change would fix it.

Re: Question about imagio patches and tweaks

so a quick registry change could allow for cabs to be installed? Also are .cab files just a program that goes in an tweaks the registry? If that is the case then as long as the registry entry is the same between phones then the cabs should work. I hope someone can make sense out of what I am asking.

Some cabs are just files, like any of the manila edits, others are just registry entries, like the gps settings cabs. Most cabs that are full programs will contain both registry settings and files. I haven't played with a "real" version of 6.5 yet but I'm assuming that 95% of anything that worked on the touch pro 2 will also work on the Imagio.

I have also the same problem as Racedog with File Explorer extension on HTC Imagio. Unfortunately, I did not backup files before installing fexploreext.cab. Not sure though, how removing fexploreext.cab solves the problem.

Does anybody know how to recover original WM 6.5 File Explorer on HTC Imagio?

Thanks.
