sync contacts onto computer

Anybody with a vista OS having problems syncing contacts on to your computer? It is tell me that I need outlook express in order to put them on my computer but when I try and DL outlook it says that outlook is not compatible with vista and refers me to windows live mail, which I already have on my computer, so is there another way I can make it work?

I have Vista (had actually-just updated to 7) and did not have any problems with sync. But I have Microsoft Outlook 2007. I have never used Outlook Express -so I am not sure what you are dealing with there. Sorry my post is basically useless except to say you can sync with Vista.

I don't mean to be a lamebrain -but since I am unaware of your level of technical skills -you already downloaded or are running Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1?

Outlook Express won't work with Windows Mobile Device Center nor with ActiveSync... You have to have a full Outlook version such as Outlook 2003, Outlook 2007 or the new one 2010... I used Outlook 2007 and have had no problems so far. Get Microsoft Outlook 2007... they're so many places u can download it from.. for free!!

The only thing I hate about my HTC is outlook - the Palm desktop was so much better (but not the old phone).

So, is there anyway to get rid of outlook completely and use another product?

hey guys, I have outlook 2007. How do I export my contacts from my phone to my desktop? I'm running windows 7 and when I try it from windows mobile device center it says outlook has not been configured.

Do you have Outlook installed? if so, all you need to do is open it and follow the steps to configure it. If you don't have it installed then u need to get it if you wanna export contacts to your PC.
