I'm gonna try this. Can i put it on my Storage card (where my GPS app is) or because it's a registry tweak does it need to go on the phone?????

Curious to know how others made out with the reg tweaks I compiled at the beginning of the thread. Did they work for you: Yes - No - Didn't Notice? THX.

Just started testing two days ago. the only problem is I didn't go home the same way last night. But one thing I noticed that it couldn't tell where I was in my work parking lot until i did your tweak. Now it sees me perfect. Don't know if that was just coincidence. Tonight I will know better and let you know. but i say so far it is better. I use Copilot8

Just wanted to thank you guys in advance. wanted to try the tweaks since i was passing exits before they appeared. but don't even know how to edit the registry and don't really feel comfortable with that yet.

So the cabs are a great addition.

thanks.

ifland- tried the cabs. didn't work for me on my htc xv6975 (ie Imagio ie Whitestone). thanks though.

jeff- do you think you could put your tweaks into a cab?

Sorry Maison, I haven't made the jump to cab-making yet. Maybe someone more experienced looking in can help with that.

Editing the registry is a snap though using a tool like Total Commander (personally I prefer registry editing - feel like I have a little more control over what I'm doing to the phone and more able to assess impacts) but I understand if you're a little hesitant.

Re: fix for GPS delay

Yea the .cab did nothing, the tweak did nothing, but the tweak with the cab did something, I think. Might be placebo, but when I was driving home from work yesterday it seemed to be a lot more spot on than usual. I'm going to manually remove and default all the settings in the registry and I'll get back with my results. One thing is for sure with the reg edits applied I see my active satellites in google maps jump faster than I ever have, from 9 to 11 to 8 to 10, so I can concur that the device is polling faster, beware of battery drain.

Yes, wedgemoose, I did make the tweaks into a cab, I even made a default cab to take them back to original. I you check your registry before and after the cab you will notice the changes. The cab contains the original tweaks in the first post and only the original tweaks. I added nothing or took away nothing.

If you open the cab file with an unzip program like winrar or 7zip you can drag the "_setup.xml" file to your desktop, double click it to open it and view the tweaks and compare them to the original tweaks in the first post to make sure that they are correct.
