Also if you don't want to do all the technical information above, when your locked out of your phone and the screen ask you to put in your email and password, you have to put in your ID@gmail and null as the password and it will reboot the phone and you'll be able to select a new lock code and access your phone without losing your information.

Just to clarify what imformation were you worried about losing on a hard reset? If you were worried about your email/contacts/calendar all that would've just downloaded again when you signed into your phone again. the only thing you wouldve risked losing was your apps and any paid apps immediately show up again the the "my downloads" section of the android market

oh and by the way, the 10 post rule is there so people can't just show up, register, drop a bunch of links to other sites trying to sell their crap, and then disappear
so yeah, i'm sorry about the inconvenience it caused you, but the rule is there for a good reason
