pda net is slow and wifi tether

I have been running the pda net and the rooted WiFi tether but its way slower than when I use to tether with the touch pro is there anything I can do to speed either up . Also if I just got the WiFi from Sprint even though I don't want to would the WiFi be faster

Re: pda net is slow and wifi tether

To me, they're all about the same. I use wifi tether, just cause its nice to not have anything plugged into the computer. I cancelled the hotspot.

Must depend on your service area because pdanet on the evo is much faster for me than the tether on my TP and TP2

Re: pda net is slow and wifi tether

I remember reading somewhere (can't find it now) that Sprint is releasing an update for the EVO on 6/28 and one of the fixes was for WiFi issues...

EDIT: Found the link and here it is.

Re: pda net is slow and wifi tether

I just ran speedtest on a laptop connected to my phone.

Results:
Ping: 167ms
DL: 1.19mb/s
UL: .19mb/s

Not sure what happened with the UL, but over all I'm not fretting over results like that.

Edit: ran again

Ping: 182
DL: 1.08mb/s
UL: .54mb/s

I have no issues at all with these.
