Re: ROM Performance Degrades Over Time

lol...Don't see how this is something that should get closed, but whatever.

I had HUGE issues with the stock ROM, and have run into problems like this with WM6.1, 6.5 and 6.5.X...it's not something that I've only seen recently.

Re: ROM Performance Degrades Over Time

MightyROM was really good in the past about it really and I'm still perfecting my ROM 100% but so far I think I got it like I like it.

Re: ROM Performance Degrades Over Time

well, I've been running the original shipped rom on my tp for 9+ months, occasionally flashing another rom, but always going back and doing a full sprite restore. when I notice issues, I just clear out old txts and temp.
the problem with lots of txt's and email is all the data is stored in a single db file. a large file takes longer to load and page in memory. I find that simply clearing the long conversations does the most good. (ie. daily weather, voicemail alerts, sports updates, long winded gf.)

Re: ROM Performance Degrades Over Time

Hmm...after doing some perusing of the file system, I see what you mean about all the texts being in a single db file. I would assume that even if you could force them to the storage card, it wouldn't do any good, as it still needs to load the whole file...

Re: ROM Performance Degrades Over Time

I got a question about flashing to shipped rom before flashing to a custom rom, do you need to wait for the user customizations before flahing to a custom rom? If you do can you explain to me why.

No need to go through customizations. Once the alignment screen comes up, go ahead and flash the custom rom.
