Re: ROM Performance Degrades Over Time
I understood what you were saying, but that really isn't the point. By flashing back to the shipped rom, your phone will be put back into factory pristine condition.

Re: ROM Performance Degrades Over Time
Alright...just so I'm clear...
I have not changed the radio. Ever. It's been stock since it came out of the box. I do (or have been recently) flashing to the shipped ROM before reflashing a custom one. My issues show up no matter what. The text messages clogging the system up intrigues me. I text rather often, and could see this being part of the issue if lots of texts in memory really does cause problems. |

Re: ROM Performance Degrades Over Time
I wouldn't doubt this is my problem, but I feel as if a phone like this should be able to keep texts stored for some time without it bogging things down...
What about storing texts on internal storage? |

Re: ROM Performance Degrades Over Time
Not really possible but you can use My Phone to back it up every night. It's kind of a pain but at least you can use it to back up your texts. I would suggest either before you crash and charge your phone at night (which you should charge every night even if you have 4 bars of battery by the way!) or when you wake up to sync your phone manually with My Phone and have it back up your texts and clear them out, or set it to sync overnight then when you wake up clear your texts.

Re: ROM Performance Degrades Over Time
Hmm..really? There's not a way to force WM to store texts on internal storage?
My Razr could even handle storing texts. Seems silly that something as powerful (in comparison) as the Diamond, should not struggle with it... |

Re: ROM Performance Degrades Over Time
...seems like a pretty big fault. Hopefully one that will be worked out soon (WM7 maybe? or an option in a tool like Advanced Config to change the folder texts are stored in).

Re: ROM Performance Degrades Over Time
It's really not a fault ... the Diamond was built for WM 6.1. By flashing to other systems and designs, we introduce lots of variables that occasionally bring a bug or two. Personally, I have never had your issues, but it's because I choose to do the necessary steps to avoid it. Probably time to acknowledge the obvious, and get on with closing this one down.
