Dont Hate Me
Just some background information:
I have been a long time sufferer of less than acceptable windows mobile phones and poor sprint customer service. my last phone, HTC Mogul, was replaced almost 5 times and finally i was fed up with it and bought the touch diamond when it came out (bad move). I have had SO many problems with it that its not even funny, and sprint has done nothing to help me regardless of my status. My father was a sprint exec for many years (he was one of the first 300 employees and many sprint execs ive talked to have recognized my last name because of him) and we, of course, are sprint premier customers but none of this matters because they refuse to discount me another phone even when I threaten to leave and take the remainder of our lines (5 of them). My dad has already left for AT&T and is in love with his iPhone. The other day, I devised a plan. So let me run everyone through my thought process on this: Ive heard about the Touch Pro replacement program and it got me thinking. I can buy a Touch Pro off craigslist for around $150 (i will check the ESN with sprint before buying to make sure its clear). After I buy one, I can either wait for it to break (which you know it will) or maybe have it just happen to "break" all of a sudden. Then I can trade it in for one of the phones on the WEL list (BB Tour, TP2, yadda, yadda, yadda), then sell that phone, and then use that money to buy a Hero, which is what ive been asking sprint to discount me on. I know this is taking advantage of the system and exploiting sprint and making those who sincerely do have a problem look bad, however, I am fed up with faulty windows mobile phones and sprint not standing behind their customers. So, does anyone see any issues with this plan, besides moral ones? Will it matter to sprint that ive only had my Touch Pro for a short while, most likely only a week or two? Thanks, Eric |
Re: Dont Hate Me
Do it and come back to tell us how it went.

Re: Dont Hate Me
I don't think it's unmoral because you are legit in buying a Pro.

Re: Dont Hate Me
you should be good, i sold my pro bought a diamond that crashed after 2 days, took it in they replaced with a refurb. as long as you have insurance you should be alright. i think the 30 day rule only applys if you damaged the phone physically and want to exchange it. by the way i went through 3 bad refurb diamonds in a week, was offered some phones took the bb tour because at the time had the highest craigslist value. sold it canceled my line, re-opened a new line and got the hero at best buy for $129.

When you cancel a line is there a certain amount of time you have to wait before re-opening one? I thought there was a limitation on that... |
Re: Dont Hate Me
im not here to diss on anyone.. but honestly i never had one problem with my diamond.. was one of teh best phones ive had.. I did have a tp that after a week had the oil under the screen.. but i just sold it on cl as is.. went back to the diamond.. i guess im very very careful with my phones...
but i do see your point. sometimes u have to bend the rules alittle bit to get anywhere.. |
