Tips for making battery last longer? New to Android

I am new to Android phones. Just got a HTC One V. Any tips for making the battery last longer and getting rid of bloatware?

I disabled the gmail sync so it wouldn't constantly check email. Any other tips? My battery icon never fills completely even when it's charging. Any thoughts on that?

Thanks

Hi ...there are many tips and tricks you can do to get a good battery life, I suggest you to install Juice Defender and battery supercharger, then turn off bluetooth and put the brightness level of your screen to 25/30%,Then keep accounts and Sync to low frequency, you don't need to get the Weather updated every 15 minutes...I hope... you can start from here, I'm sure is going to be ok.

Hey MCnDaHouse
Your HTC One V has an inbuilt widget "Power Control", use it. It will let you easily turn ON and OFF your data, additionally turn your screen brightness to automatic from that widget. This will save your battery life by managing the brightness of your screen according to the conditions of light around you.

Re: Tips for making battery last longer? New to Android

Find here some of the tips to enhance the speed of your Android device

There is an app named CPU tuner which helps in enhancing the performance of your phone system as well as saves the battery life.

Avoid running apps on background as it consumes more battery life.

You will need to clear the cache data in regular times. This would be a good guide for people who used to run apps often.
