I have the same exact situation. My Bold is a 9650.

Thank you for looking into this. :)

is it work to install OS 5 for blackberry ?

Re: [09/23/10] BlackBerry Swiss Army Knife v1.8.0

Working perfectly on my Win7 64bit laptop. (Using Bold 9650 on stock Sprint OS)
I'll also report that the "successful" popup is more timely! On the last version it would pop up almost immediately before the phone had even begun the backup which was confusing until I learned to watch phone screen.

Tips to remember... go to your Program Files(x86) folder, then BBSAK and right click on the EXE... choose run as administrator (do not use the created shortcuts). Also be sure you've plugged in BB and let the drivers load then run BBSAK. Finally, the last thing to try when you can't connect is to click "kill processes"

Re: BBSAK Blackberry Swiss Army Knife

Great application, thank you very much.
Especially its ability to backup 3rd party applications.

But one slight problem came up after I did backup.
The famous IT Policy suddenly appears and prevents my application to upload data (I am using Endomondo).
I did not have any problem using my application prior doing backup BBSAK.

Any quick solution to remove IT Policy and prevent this to happen again?

Thanks in advance...

Re: [09/23/10] BlackBerry Swiss Army Knife v1.8.0

Can't connect to my Bold 9000. I am running Windows XP with the latest service pack and patches. User from the crackberry forum said if they turn off the password on the blackberry, then BBSAK v1.8 is connecting to the phone fine. Hope this might help some users. It doesn't help my case, as I have a corporate plan and the IT policy doesn't allow me to disable the password on my phone. It is not just a policy on paper, but that setting is actually locked out. =( Please fix the password bug on BBSAK. I like this tools. Will waited a bit for a fix before I go back to v1.7. Thanks

Hi am i doing somthing wrong? I have installed v 1.8 on my system running Vista 64 bit, but it won't read my 8900 or 8520.

Re: [09/23/10] BlackBerry Swiss Army Knife v1.8.0

Ah I haven't tried via password, I'll enable and see if I get same.

@bigal98. What steps are you taking? Are you ruining as admin? Do you use password?

If you don't use password just click ok and leave field blank.

Version 1.8 does have a password protected device bug. Please expect v1.8.1 after we have it confirmed working. Again any beta testers, feel free to send me a PM.

Re: [09/23/10] BlackBerry Swiss Army Knife v1.8.0

I'll beta if you want... I'll PM
I can definitely recreate issue by adding a simple password to my non-ITpolicy BB.

The official BBSAK v1.8.1 will be available for download, either later today or tomorrow. We are awaiting some final tests, to make sure this version goes off without a hitch.

Re: [09/23/10] BlackBerry Swiss Army Knife v1.8.0

I backed up all my 3rd party apps with BBSAK, and have attempted to restore them multiple times with no success. The application says the apps were restored successfully, but when I look at my Storm 2 they are not there. I found the backup file and all the JAD files are there.??

PLEASE HELP!!!

Thanks!

Phillip

Thanks for the prompt response! You can give it a try, but I have a 9550 Storm 2 so it may not behave the same. I LOVE BBSAK interface and funtionality. I hope we can figure it out.

Thanks!

I think i know what happened. The jad files are there in the backup but the programs that restore are missing the cod files. What do you think?

Re: [09/23/10] BlackBerry Swiss Army Knife v1.8.0

Backup is messed up due to the way we implemented it, v1.8.1 will roll back to the older style backup feature but have a little more functionality. Keep a watch on this thread, seems we will be releasing today more than likely.

Re: [09/23/10] BlackBerry Swiss Army Knife v1.8.0

Hi There - firstly I must just say that that BBSAK is a very useful utility.

I have noticed a few minor things in 1.8.1 but they may be my mis-understanding :-
On the main BBSAK window, the link to the web says ppcgeeks.com but if you click on it you actually go to rimgeeks.com and not ppcgeeks.com?

When I first started using BBSAK from V1.7 I was using a 8310 and the picture of a 8310 was shown on the main BBSAK screen.

I am now using an 8900 and it shows the phone model OK when it is connected, however if no phone is connected, the main BBSAK screen shows an 8310 again. I know that this is really not an issue but I wondered where BBSAK remembers the default phone to display (I could not find anything in the registry) and also why is displays an 8310 when the last phone connected was an 8900

When I installed V1.8.0 I uninstalled V1.7 but some settings maybe have ben left behind?

I seem to remember reading that V1.7 had an automatic check for an update in it - is this present in V1.8 as I was not informed by the BBSAK software that an update to V1.8.1 was available (actually V1.7 did not inform me that 1.8 was available either).

Thanks for a great product (I will be making a donation)

Andrew

You got me while I was changing the links, the first post has been updated to v1.8.1. Retry the links now. ;)

Edit: Andrew the 8310 is the default icon since thats the one we started with. It only changes when connected to a different device.

Re: [10/1/10] BlackBerry Swiss Army Knife v1.8.1

OK Thanks for that - never thought that it might be a co-incidence that you also display an 8310 when no phone is connected.

I have now found the update check under the Misc button.

I have found a small issue (this was also happenening under V1.7) with the screenshot button.
It captures the screen ok, but only the 2 right hand side buttons are shown (cancel and save, reading from the right) the other button has a small amount (about 10 pixels or so) of it's edge shown but no caption, as it is cut off by the left hand side of the window (it must be something like a copy to clipboard button as I get a message saying copied to clipboard after clicking in it). Maximising the window does not shown the button any better. I can post the image of the window if it helps.

I have also noticed that if you click on the backup apps button and then click on cancel button and do not enter a name, the backup is carried out anyway!!

Let me know if you want any more beta testers - I have lots of experience in the software degign and development field.

Thanks
Andrew

I installed the latest version 6.0, but I'm realizing that maybe my pc needs a cleaning, I nearly full disks, tomorrow I'll do a bit 'of Pulz and we'll let you know.

Thanks again and you will want to contribute to your project with a donation
