GPS Battery Drain??

So does leaving the GPS on all the time affect your battery significantly?

Re: GPS Battery Drain??

Some programs will lock every so often, and lessen the burden on the battery. CGPS locks every 5 minutes while it's running so it keeps the battery drain to a minimum. But you need WinMo 6.5 to use it.

Re: GPS Battery Drain??

Definately.. although, being a recent TT7 convert I've had to also install GPSgate. If you're using this there's a couple of useful forum posts about using a Mortscript to run it, so it opens GPSgate, then TT7 to reduce the drain on the battery.

You can also set GPSgate to turn off when idle.. it'll take you a bit longer to get a lock, but it'll save you running to your nearest phone store to get a charger to "replace" the one you just threw out the window

Re: GPS Battery Drain??

So do the bluetooth function as well. Better to OFF all the wifi, GPS, etc that you do not need. Only on the function when necessary.
