One big announcement did come from the largest U.S. carrier, Verizon (88 million subscribers), and Google. They plan to launch several Android-based smart phones by the end of the year and will collaborate on software and services.

I thought I'd just throw this in for reference of size.

Verizon Wireless is the largest Telecommunications company in the U.S, and (as stated above) subscribes 88 million customers, thats more than 1 in every 3 american families.

Google is the largest site (In terms of visitors and usage) in the United States, and earns over half a billion unqiue visitors a month, which is more people than in North America (Canada, The U.S. and Mexico)

Both companies revenue in the billions and are key figures in modern communications as providers (VZW) and builders (Googles) of technology

Another potential Iphone Killer is in the midst of their cooperation, especially with news of AT&T being crippled by the Iphone, its savior (Double edged sword?)
