Cooking roms

Please dont get mad at me if i posted this in the wrong section or if it is a double post.
i am new to the ppc development world, mind you i have used roms and software made by others. but i finally decided to get in on the action my self. Where do i start, besides getting the ppckitchen. i have that, but i really dont know what i am doing. anyone feeling generous and want to help out a lost soul? how do i add programs that are not listed in the kitchen, and stuff like that. and dont worry any help i get will be credited in anything i make i am not out to screw anyone out of their hard work.
