Help updating to 3.42.50

Hello,

I am trying to update to 3.42.50 and everytime i run ruu it tells me that the rom is not for my phone? do i need to downgrade my spl before updating?

radio: 3.37.75
rom: wm6.5 21820 bulit

any help would be appreciated.

Get you an sd card 2gig or less and format it to fat32.
Place the radio ndh file on it and rename it to TITAIMG.nbh(no caps on nbh)
Enter bootloader mode and follow grey screen instructions.
THis will update your radio. RUU not a good way to install radio.

Spl is where it needs to be. leave it alone.

Generally this error is seen most often when the nbh file is not the one that is correct for that device. PPCGEEKS RUU will work as long as the nbh file is written for that particular device. Make sure you don't have a mismatch.

the radio is made for 6800 (3.42.50). I've tried other versions (several) they all give me the same error. I tried matts method but it hasn't worked yet. I don't know if its because i got other programs and folders in the sd card and i put the rom in the root folder but it didnt start when i booted up on bootloader. I haven't formatted the sd card yet but will try it and see if that works.

i tried the sd and nothing happens. I formatted the sd(not sdhc) (1gb) fat32 put the rom TITAIMG.nbh in root and booted into loader the loader boots and just sits there with serial on display did i miss anything?

No, thats the way to do it. I mean make sure the file is named TITAIMG.nbh I had a PNY SD 1gig card that wouldn't work either. I ended up using a 2gig one that finally did the trick. You put it in bootloader and then it jumps to a gray screen saying loading and it does its thing.

I had the same problem. Relock your phone, then install the nueSPL unlocker on the card, run that to unlock your phone through the bootloader/flash process, then put the radio image on the card, enter bootloader and it will flash your new radio.

Dammm.. that was a trip I tried Yukonjack's method but again the neuspl didn't do anything with the sd card. ran it but it just bootloaded and paused. So I ran titanlocker and brought it back to i think its 1.04 then ran hardSPL and brought it to 2.40. next i ruu'ed the 3.42.50 and it worked! you might have to run exitbl during these processess sometimes. After i upgraded the radio the rom got corrupted so i had to put the phone in booloader mode and then run ruu with a rom and that did the trick. now its 3.42.50 and alive!!

Great! I feel your pain on having to roll back to older radios and roms. I restocked mine to get to this point, but the GPS works and it was a huge help when I went to Denver this weekend.
