Re: Tro 800 for Treo pro

What exactly do you mean? Are they giving a Treo Pro for your Treo 800W just like that??

Re: Tro 800 for Treo pro

yea if it is a corp service and repair store as of monday when i was at work last the only thing they could exchange for if you had a problem with your 800w is a new treo pro.

Re: Tro 800 for Treo pro

My 800w with low signal strength is being replaced with a Treo Pro (they had to order it though, so I'm assuming it will be refurbished, not new)

Re: Tro 800 for Treo pro

this is nice but nothing pisses me off more as a tech than when a customer comes in with a perfectly functioning phone and wants it swapped out for a pro just because people are posting this on a forum. so congrats to OP and others genuinly having prob's w/their phone but those who are using the system to get a free upgrade..not cool and if the manager at the store notices, chances are your account will get flagged and you deffinetly wont come out ahead

Re: Tro 800 for Treo pro

Maybe if these phones worked half as good as they are supposed to this would not even be an issue. I have one that works when it want's too. Won
't sync at all anymore, and I get a constant no service and have to do a hard reset about once a week. I don't have time to get by the service center and refuse to pay to use the insurance for a phone that is 3 months old. I am sure that you techs are as tired as the rest of us of dealing with substandard equipment but I just had to vent a little. This phone is making me crazy, I love it, I hate it, I love it, I hate it....argh!

Judging by the time of the post and the ~400 miles from Cincinnati, you could be the fellow that I talked with at the authorized Sprint service center in West Bloomfield, MI.

Careful what you say about people, not everyone is a liar or looking for an undeserved gain. I've personally been unhappy with my 800w for a long while (> 1 year). Even though it's not "broken" it has many annoying issues. Of course any unhappy phone owner is going to jump at an opportunity to swap it. Especially since they paid hundreds of dollars for the phone and are locked into a contract. Shoot, I've even thought about trying to swap with a Centro owner just to shake my 800w. We'll see how my replacement pans out.

Hope this sheds some light on the other side of the counter for you.
