Re: Pocket PC (Old) Stuck in beggining. Please Help! Have old version.
It's not stuck in bootloader. It's getting stuck on the first splash. It can be a couple of things causing it, either an overloaded ROM or a bad flash. I'd suggest trying to flash a new ROM and see if it boots. If it does, enjoy your new ROM.

You also need to know what bootloader version you have, as that will dtermine the ROMs you can use. Please search next time on things like this, as there are threads and answers on these types of problems. Have fun and let us know if there is anything else you can't find help for.

Re: Pocket PC (Old) Stuck in beggining. Please Help! Have old version.
Ok, I am new to all of this. I don't want to clutter forumns for no reason. But I am not sure exactly what I am supposed to be searching for. Any help on this might help. I've been reading around. But haven't found anythign helpful yet, since I might not know exactly what to look for.
I mean, I can flash the phone while it IS in the splash screen? Because, how am I supposed to connect it anywhere if it doesn't let me connect in any way to the computer)..just charges. And where can I look for info in *found it* finding out my bootloader version *found it*, how to flash it and revelant things. Any simple direction will help I can read through things to try to figure it out. Thanks for the quick reply and help. Take Care Hellbinder. P.S Im getting the hang of all this.! Found boot loader version! Thx for everything! Last edited by hellbinder; 05-12-2009 at 07:17 PM. |

Hi, I am trying flashing the phone. I am trying to follow the instructions given here
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?p=733569 and the problem I am having is that I get an error with the usb. The computer says that the device attached has malfunctioned and so windows does not recognize it. Remember, I get stuck in the splash screen. Any info would help. thx |

Press power+notes and poke the reset. Screen will go black and in a strong light will say serial in the middle and a number at the bottom. The number is the bootloader version like 1.00,1.02, etc. The bootloader should connect and allow the flash.

Yeah, that's what I did. and it says error ocurred on attached device. So, is the phone really messed up then? Or is there anything i have to install first for the computer to recognize it?

Okay my bad. I had assumed you had activesync. Here is the link to MS. Choose the appropriate version for your OS.

Re: Pocket PC (Old) Stuck in beggining. Please Help! Have old version.
Ok, I did that yesterday, I installed active sync, restarted, went to bootloader (pressing notes + power button and poking the reset) and then I proceeded to plug in the phone via usb and I stil got the message of the attached deviced malfunctioning. I tried to use active sync to make a connection but it didn't find any device. You guys ever heard of anyone else having this problem? I think I might have found a dead end because without usb connection, I won't be able to flash![ |
