text message ringtone continuously plays

I put a custom ringtone on the phone to play when i recieve a text message. The only problem is that it will keep playing even when I read the message. It will play in its entirety.

Check it out, i have the sprint touch pro and on it there is a program called mp3 trimmer. it let you make you own ring tones and you can cut and crop it to be as long or as short as you chose. i dont know if your phone has it but look under the programs menu. good luck
