Proxy rendering web browser?

Hello,

Ever since I received my beta invite to Microsoft's Deepfish project, I've been interested in developing a proxy rendering web browser that can be hosted on your own PC. I was hoping that Microsoft was planning to release "Deepfish Server" as a Vista Ultimate Extra, but it looks like Deepfish is going to be scrapped at the end of the month.

Now, I've been using Skyfire, but the whole idea of using a proxy for my web browsing, and the privacy that it has (read: none) kind of bothers me.

Does anyone know if a project like this already exists?

Thanks!

Matt
