Winows Mobile Device centre not connecting

Hi,
I have recently purchased HTC TOUCH ( 3452) and a bit confused about syn function. I am using Vista Ultimate SP1 on my desktop PC. When i try to connect TOUCH to PC nothing happens, even though USB device connection icon is displayed in the tray of pc.
The phone says that u need Active Syn 4.5 or above on my desktop pc. ?????
Have already tried re installing Windows Mobile Device Centre twice
Any help is appreciated in advance.
Pls advice.

This is my first ever thread so kindly hlp .......

Re: Winows Mobile Device centre not connecting

Don't feel too bad. It took me nearly a YEAR to get my 700WX to sync to Vista via WMDC. I flashed to a custom ROM, and that seemed to do the trick.
