help with upgrade

I was having trouble understanding whether to soft reset or put my phone in bootload mode before going into the software upgrade utility part of the process. My computer wasn't recognising the phone. I finally got it to work and all seemed well until somewhere along the line the computer stopped recognising the phone again. Now I can't even get out of the bootloader screen mode - it perpetually says Serial and is dimmed out. I tried soft resetting but I got nothing.

is my phone useless now?

Re: help with upgrade

Just throwing a wild guess....using Vista?

No the phone is not useless, it is almost impossible to brick the 67, unless you run over/burn/...etc..

Re: help with upgrade

stuck in bootloader thread and that tool did the trick. I had to uninstall the USB connection and reinstall it along the way...but now the phone has come back from the dead.

any ideas how I ended up in that condition and how to avoid it on my next attempt?

Re: help with upgrade

great to hear....most of the time it is on vista that give problems, xp really works great on reflashes...but that is a he said/she said topic.

If you dont have to change bootloader dont, when reflashing, keep it the same.

Again...it is really hard to break the 67.

Re: help with upgrade

Hi. Vista works great for Kitchens. And I know that the start screens when you get to flashing the ROMS in the kitchens can change depending on RUU and BootLoader. ALWAYS PUT THE PHONE IN BOOTLOADER , (POWER+RESET+RECORD). It may help to watch my video on flashing http://youtube.com/watch?v=CLyFeQCKw-A
