Custom SMS tones?

Is there a way to set custom SMS tones for separate contacts (via 3rd party apps or not)? On my old VX8000 I could set a sms tone for my girlfriend so I always knew it was her. I would kill to have this feature back

To set a custom SMS tone for a person, you need to edit that contact in your contacts list. You would want to go to the contact, while viewing them hit the right soft button (MENU) and choose EDIT. Go down to "Custom ring tone:" and choose from that list.

You can add more custom ring tones to your phone by simply putting any tones you want in the \Application Data\Sounds\ folder on your device. For example, I have an MP3 in that folder so that it can be chosen as a ring tone for my phone, or for a contact. To place files in that folder you can most easily perform this by navigating to your phone thru "My Computer" on your PC, while the phone is connected via USB. Good luck!
