Silence Camera shutter

Is there a setting or hack to turn the shutter sound off on the ELTE?

yep, see attached apk, though it is deodexed, it may work by deleting the camera.odex, but I have not tried.

Thanks. I'm not sure how to delete camera.odex without being rooted unless you mean the file that is called camera.odex and to just delete that.

I'm like you. waiting for S off and Dev root.

yes, you would delete camera.odex & overwrite camera.apk....but you would need to be rooted.
