Recomendations for a micro SD, 16 or 32 GB

I want to get a micro SD card for the TP2 to install Android and other data. It should be a 16 or 32 Gig.
Could you recommend one.

Thanks

Sandisk ... you are looking for proven speed in terms of random read/write performance, where class rating is based primarily on sustained transfer rate ... Sandisk

32GB microsd cards - xda-developers

You'll want to read through this thread. Class speed is important, but in your specific situation, you want to run Android off of the SD card. Thus, while class speed as a measure of performance is important when thinking about copying large files, random read-write access is more important to you because the OS is going to be doing a bunch of random read-writes as it operates off of the SD card.

A high class rating does not ensure a high level of performance from a random read-write perspective.

I'll complicate the matter even further by bringing in the PC and RAID-0 disk analogy. When RAID-0 first appeared on the scene for desktops PCs, everyone looked at the Sustained Transfer Rate performance of RAID-0 and immediately presumed that it would improve the performance of their PC. What many figured out later is that Sustained Transfer Rate performance was better, but at the cost of random read-write access.

The two measures are NOT mutually exclusive. You can have a storage medium that does both, but in your case you want to concentrate on MicroSDHC cards which perform higher in the random read-write tests.

Best regards,
-boggsie

I use an 8gb SanDisk in mine.
works great.

I read somewhere that they dont advice using more then 4gb for the android port. But I dont remember where I read it or their reasons for it.

But I have an 8 and it works great. I mean its slow.. but then again so is my tp2 nowdays.

if you have the resource to get a 32 by all means go for it lol.
but it will work just fine with a 16

I first ran my port off a 2gb card and it worked fine even tho it was laggy and slow.

But the 8gb isnt any faster so a bigger card doesnt mean better performance fyi
