so wwhat does this mean for current phones without the front facing camera? i remember seeing something somewhere that attaches to the camera lens on the phones without a front facing camera and sits at the top of the phone to let u do video calls...is that a real accessory we could buy?

I would venture a guess and say that it would have to work with the back camera, the only wp7 phone I've seen with a ffc was the prototype Nokia.
