Skype v3.0.0.256 - end caller gets echoing

Using HTC TP2 and Skype v3.0.0.256

I downloaded the latest Skype and it's working great on my sero 500 plan using my data. I hear the caller and it's clear for me. BUT my caller is hearing an echo of what they are saying (delay 2-4secs). It's driving my callers insane when talking to me via skype (dont' blame them). This happens to them on landlines and cell phone (via wifi and sprint data), it makes no difference what they are on... it just echoes.

I have tried turning down my volume and they have tried turning down their volume if they are on a cell phone. I have turned on the echo reduction check mark in skype's menu and that's not working either.

I have yet to install the audio router. I've read numerous threads on the audio router and that doesnt seem to solve the issue either.

any help would be greatly appreciated! I've searched believe me... and I can't seem to locate the answer. Some say they have it working fine but don't post how...
