Wifi Glitch?

Running FRX05 with WisTilts2's latest test kernel, but also tried 1276 to troubleshoot.

My Wifi does not work anymore. It does not turn on at all anymore. As soon as I press the toggle, it says error. I think this is also preventing my device from going into green solid deep sleep. My Wifi has worked previously on this build without a problem.

Is there anything I can do to reset things? I don't care about the Wifi all that much, I just want my device to sleep again! (Also trying to avoid deleting data.img)

Well I'm assuming you're matching the kernel (zimage) with the modules (modules-xxxxxx-tar.gz). If you don't match these, wifi will not work.

If so, at least rename the data.img to test. Gotta rule that out!

I am sure that I have the same zimage with modules. I keep multiples in the same folder but I always rename the ones I am not using with a prefix.

I got it working again. It turns out my GPS was on. Though, the quick settings app was telling me it was not on. I turned GPS off (the phone was able to sleep again), and Wifi worked once again. Odd.

Now for some reason, my lockscreen disappeared. I tried turning on the pattern recognition and it still doesn't turn on. Am I missing something or could this be a bug?

I don't know what proper sleep would have to do with wifi... perhaps it needed to cycle.

The lock screen thing I might blame on your data.img... Can you try renaming it to see? Titanium Backup makes blasting out that file a little less painful... although it is a shoddy fix, it happens. This file seems to get corrupted, and eventually becomes unstable.

I think you may be on to something. My phone now sends calls right to voicemail! A new data.img it is. I've haven't ever had it corrupt this much this quick before.

I am having the same glitch too - I had my wifi working in FRX05 - then the glitch started... still there since I swapped to FRX06 last night.

Interesting thing I can note on, is I added a second WEP network to the wpa_supplicant.conf file. Now mind you, it worked after I did that, but hasnt worked since I left that network.

Going to restore my supplicant backup and see what I get....

hmm restoring that backup has no effect...

time to go look at my apps that I have added I guess....
