Exchange problem...

Hey guys, I posted this over at pdaphonehome, but no one could help me. I'm sure I'm just missing something easy here, but I can't find it.

I have my i760 syncing with my work exchange via activesync. However, if there is no unread email, nothing shows up on my device. I have it set to download one weeks worth of email, but it only Downloads new emails. If I read the email on my laptop, it disappears from my phone. I want to have at least a weeks worth of emails on my phone. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Based on suggestions from pdaphonehome, I set my Outlook to cached mode, but it still doesn't work. I'm on Outlook 2003 and the exchange server is Exchange 2003 Standard.

Any ideas?

I've used wireless sync before, and I don't care for it. Exchange activesync is a lot better if you have the option.

I just wish I could figure this out, lol. I'm the only one having this problem, in the entire world apparently.

We can finally use activesync. I'll let you know if I find out anything as I'm setting it up now.

wait so you want a full copy of all email on your phone as well in outlook?
on my ppc i can go back about 7 to 8 days, settins as follows;
  • ActiveSync
Download the past: week
Msg Format: Plain Text
Download Limit: Entire Msg
checked Include file attachments
checked Only if smaller than 25kbs

I will note this, after sending email they will not be in the sent folder on phone. i had this same issue w/ my 6700 also. DO NOT repeat DO NOT us that crap VZW program with a exchange server.
Hope this helps.

If you want your Sent Items to show up, simply set it to sync the sent items folder. I am in IT and sent tons of test emails from my phone...so I like knowing that they sent OK.

Been syncing sent items and about a dozen other folders for years.

If you have any problems with ActiveSync let me know...I've set up quite a few phones.

FYI

I figured out what the problem was...sort of.

It was my laptop, not my phone. I switched laptops and the problem stopped happening, even though we couldn't figure out what on my laptop was causing the emails to get pulled from my phone.
