Re: WiFi Router that doesn't broadcast the network name
One reason is that it only allows for WEP encryption which is pretty weak so the more security the better. But more importantly I want to keep the wifi router on all the time and I'd rather not be sharing an unknown network name around the office at work. I'm on Sprint's $30 SERO plan and getting tired of my touch pro2 but don't wan to upgrade my plan. I am considering tethering an ipod or evo to use as my phone with google voice and some workarounds.

Re: WiFi Router that doesn't broadcast the network name
you dont have to upgrade your plan... if your wanting android, you change you to sero premium and charge you $10 more a month.. thats it... hardly losing your plan..
regardless, whos going to try to hack you "around the office".. and for the final answer, No, I dont think you can hide it.. not in anything ive ever read |

Re: WiFi Router that doesn't broadcast the network name
Yes..no one is going to hack you around the office...if you want you can load up Android and use Android-WIFI-Tether...while its still WEP it has option to filter by MAC address..
Also to note, I dont know about the ipod but Evo will need a wpasupplicant hack to see adhoc network..
