Angry Copy settings to get data from one TP to anther

I have a sprint touch pro ,cloned anther touch pro ., just for fun ., the cloned one gets voice txt all ok., however, i cant get connection to internet .
I copied all the info that i could by doing ##778# , profile , modem setting nam ...etc still cant get update profile to work, connect ....
no experts here.??
is there a way , a program can copy these sensitive settings and can copy to anther TP., can it be done with CDMAwork shop ..or other programs , and if so how its done please.

I think Sprite backup saves all those setting for you. Worth a shot.

Re: Copy settings to get data from one TP to anther

I've done this a few times.. what you need to do is first use sprite (or similar) to backup the primary TP. Once it's done, issue ##RTN# and do a full reset on the 'new' TP. You can then reprovision the new phone by doing ##MSL#, then do a restore.

Depending on the rom, you might have to flash to sprint OEM first, do the ##RTN, reprovision, reflash the custom rom, then do the restore. Sounds complex, but it works.

I've tried to copy the entire TP filesystem with CDMAworkshop like I did with my old PPC6700, but without doing the reprovisioning after the ##RTN, the internet didn't work.

Good luck!

Re: Copy settings to get data from one TP to anther

if I remember correct, the update profile doesn't work if your supercid'd. you simply have to copy all the personal authentication info from one to the other.
the tricky part is that the auth passwords are in unicode. I've always just used phm notepad to copy/paste from the old and into the new..

then the other trick is that only 1 phone can use a service at a time. however one can use 1x (voice/sms) and the other can use evdo.

Re: Copy settings to get data from one TP to anther

great for all the feed back., the sprite file i didnt find one , is there a link to a free one or must buy.??
the unicode i didnt know how you copied and pasted ., if you would make time for some instructions please., i tried didnt know how to do it.
iam going to try all these methods , but my internet works but slow , i dont know how but it works on 3 phones, but the primary one is fastest and the other 2 (more than one) wont update profile and sometimes ask for password and user name .., i just click dismiss.....etc still would want to make them all work perfect so iam listening

Re: Copy settings to get data from one TP to anther

well, since the tp1 still has a ctrl button you simply highlight the field, then hit ctrl-c to copy, switch over to phm notepad, then hit ctrl-v to paste.

Like I said before, evdo (fast internet) will only work on 1 phone at a time, as well as 1x (slow) will only work on 1 phone at time. there are settings in the phone options to force the phones to one or the other (think there's a handy mortscript for this too on xda)
also I belive the update profile will infact only work on the phone actually on the account..

I think I may have said too much already seeing as this is an activity that could be interpreted as illegal. (although never been tested in court)
