Need a little clarification

Hello everyone,

I have been addicted to customizing my HD2 ever since I found out I could. Just today I found a cab that would remove the "start" text away from the windows start menu icon. When I installed the cab and soft re-set the phone I got an error that would freeze the phone on the windows screen. I had no choice but to hard reset the phone and start all over (i backed up my phone so it is just a matter of putting it all back).

My question.....I think I installed a cab that was not compatible with my ROM. I did not pay attention to that when I did it. Would that cause the issue I had? If so how would I go about verifying which ROM I have to avoid this problem?

Thanks for the help and to all those who provide awesome tweaks and cabs to choose from.

Re: Need a little clarification

Sounds like you installed a cab that was meant to remove the "start" text on a 6.5.x rom. On these roms the start menu is at the bottom of the screen instead of the top. To verify what rom you are using go to the settings tab, about phone, software version. Unless you have flashed hspl2 and changed your rom, you are on the stock t-mobile rom which is only windows 6.5. welcome to the site.

Re: Need a little clarification

Thanks for the insight. Yes I did verify that I do in fact have the factory ROM installed currently. I have seen a lot of threads regarding upgrading ROMs and the like but have no idea which one I should upgrade to if at all. Again...thank you for the clarification as I will be much more careful about what it is I am trying to install.
