Re: doom
Getting a old game like doom (awsome game for it's time, I might just dig a copy of it up to play again) working on a current device might be tricky, as I don't think anyone has really created one in a while. Most of the versions I could find was way back in 05/07 days, when PPCs could actually start running them.
I found this one http://www.codeprophet.co.cc/index.p...ects&Itemid=54 Created / Updated in Jan 2010, so it might work. My best advice is to do a google for "doom pocketpc" and try some of the versions out there. You might just get lucky. To get the perfect version, it might be a trial and error thing. I know I was playing Duke Nukem 3-D a few weeks ago on my titan and it worked ok, just no multi touch stinks (cant move and shoot at the same time, sucks). Time to wip out the old 100mb Zip drive, where I copied all my paid versions of these classic games. I still have the Doom 2 box around my house somewhere...heh If you have any luck, post, just wondering what really works now...

Re: doom
David, that was the Doom I was looking for in my old cab files, but got distracted. It works, although the screen is taken up mostly by the skins, but it does work provided you have the old Doom files from the retail version. it is a pretty good version, and works well.

And does anyone know of a good Doom engine for the Touch Pro 2 (or similar slider)? I tried the one linked above (gfDoom) but it was a bit quirky and wouldn't go into landscape mode. Last edited by abw1987; 05-19-2010 at 06:04 PM. |
