Re: Droid rooting questions

myself personally i wouldnt have used the "rooted" version yet. its still pretty fresh and i wouldve waited for somebody with a custom rom(if there isnt 1 out already)...so i wouldve waited or just used the leaked rom.(i think the leaked rom is a newerr build anyway then the "rooted" rom). also know there is no downgrade yet so if you have a problem with your Eris and you gotta send it it, you cannot go back to 1.5. as far as laptop tethering you didnt have to root for that. PdaNet can do that. So yes you can tether, Use that program.

as far as what i wouldve done, not used the rooted rom. at least not yet. i wouldve stayed with the leaked rom which i plan on doing anyway unless there is a really great custom rom, but then with all the updates the creator of that rom may put it, it might be a pain in the ass to keep updating. Like when I had my I910 and was using a custom rom, it seemed like every week there was always a newer version and even tho you might of wanted to keep up, it was just a pain sometimes.

Re: Droid rooting questions

I'm running 2.1 on my rooted phones and honestly the run a help of a lot faster than the leaked version...I'm not worried bout 1.5 I'm beyond that...from what I heard if u root it phone depending on how much u use u won't be charged for the tethering...also I thought those who did the leaked version are stuck with it till they figure a downgrade right? Also being rooted I have superuser access correct? What's the difference in rooting now and rooting later? I'm not useing a custom built Rom yet right I'm just rooted? So y would it matter if I rooted now or later? Can u give me more details on the tethering? Cuz like above I heard depending on what u use u won't be charged tuck for it reply cg83

Re: Droid rooting questions

Tethering is free.

It's easy, too.
