Re: ScanLife app
I was able to download and get it running, but it doesn't seem to work well. Out of about a dozen barcodes, I was able to get it to read one. Once the program recognized the barcode, it opened the Scanlife webpage and said the code was not known. It looks like an interesting app, hopefully someone knows how to use it better than me/us?
Also, it doesn't seem to focus very well - the screen is very grainy... |

Re: ScanLife app
Hi! I don't think you're supposed to click anything. I think it automatically takes the picture of the barcode image and then takes to you wherever the link is attached to. I'm assuming that's how it works. I have a friend with a MyTouch 3G (Android OS) and that's how hers works. I tried taking pictures of Andorid barcodes and nothing happened. I removed it from my phone...which is a Samsung Omnia i910. I have no idea why it's on Verizon's website...that's where I got it from, too. I just downloaded NeoReader, which is another barcode reader. I haven't had much luck with that either...I think they're good ideas - maybe they just need some more R&D...?

the neoreader has worked ok for me but barcodes just arent everywhere yet so finding one in the right light,at the right place(driving is not a good time to snap a pic of a billboard) and of something the phone recognizes. again as a Dare owner I do understand verizon putting it there but, like the way the treated the Dare, dont know why |
