how to flash Vogue from SD Card

Hi - my first post here, but have been benefitting from this forum for some time.

My phones (HTC Touch Vogue CDMA) have been unlocked with Coke. I have successfully flashed them many times, with an Active Sync connection to the PC. Currently the phones have NFSFAN's V1.00 Windows Mobile 6.5 ROM.

I want to try Vin's latest Rom, but after searching the site, and googling the web, I have not found specific Vogue instructions for flashing from SD card.

Can anyone post instructions, make it a sticky here please?

This is what I have tried.

1) Have SD card freshly formatted in FAT32.
2) Have placed VOGUIMG.nbh at root of the SD card.
3) While holding down the top (power?) button, and holding the side volume slider down, I have pressed the stylus into the soft reset hole at the bottom of the unit.
4) Despite holding down these buttons for a while, nothing happens.

Any idea what I am doing wrong? Thanks!

wrong button combo - no fatality for you, not yours

the combo is power (top button) Camera (right lower button on side) and then reset hole at bottom

this will allow you to flash from your SD Card that is if your SD Card is formatted FAT32 (which you stated it is) and it is 2GB or less in size

That did it. I was surprised how long the reboot took after the firmware upgrade. Maybe it only seemed longer as the device provided very little feedback.

I was trying the VIN rom because V1.00 of NFSFAN's Windows Mobile 6.5 ROM, has a bug where the bluetooth handsfree device can not activate the voice dialing. As I live in a province where handsfree laws have now been passed, the ability to use voice dialing without touching the phone is necessary.

Vin's ROM required voice tags for dialing, so I went back to beta 16 version of NFSFAN's Mobile 6.5 ROM, which does not suffer from the voice dialing activation bug.

Check it out. It's a little dated, but worth the read.
