Re: GPS sch-910
no you don't get charged for it. I don't think you even need the phones radio to be on.
the gps is built into the phone. you should be able to use it on a non activated phone. what rom are you using? |

Re: GPS sch-910
Rom CF03.2096 If I deactivate the phone I loose the gps on google maps a a golf program called freecaddie. I also have to have gps set to com port 08 and baud rate 57600 to work, which seems like it goes thru the phone setup...

Re: GPS sch-910
the GPS is built into the phone radio, so it has to be on to work. it's not an independent GPS. I'm not sure if it still works if the phone isn't activated with a provider tho - I've been meaning to try this on my old xv6800.

Re: GPS sch-910
Question 1&3. Yes you can update the rom to CF03 if it isn't already. Follow step 1 in this post by Lioryte.
forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=103190 (I see now you need to have a post count of 10+ to use links, sorry copy and paste it) 2. You don't need to install a custom rom for GPS to work. I am using WM7 Black and Blue Windows Phone 6.5 ROM 23064 build Final. For GPS software, I would look to others in the forum to help - there is one thread here on the subject. forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=74800&highlight=gps Last edited by depeche; 01-10-2010 at 04:44 PM. |
