network connection keeps coming on

This is probably a very basic question. I'm trying to adjust my father in-law's Samsung Omnia. This thing keeps dialing a network connection (through the cellular line) by itself. I disconnect, and some seconds later, it connects again. He doesn't have an Activesync account in there, so the "schedule" thing is grayed out. What other setting is causing it to always keep a network on??

Re: network connection keeps coming on

Maybe it's trying to connect for messaging. Check Outlook E-Mail (and any other accounts) setup, find "Send/Receive Schedule", make sure set to "Manual".

Re: network connection keeps coming on

I think there are also so VZW apps that connect from time to time. Also, weather apps will do that.
