Re: Office Mobile 2010 - Beta
Just installed and resetting. I think it does replace the original, but I can't say for sure, my ROM doesn't have it cooked in.
I'll report back on how it works!! |
Re: Office Mobile 2010 - Beta
It replaced the office I had installed on my win 6.5 cooked rom. The one thing I noticed you can now scroll in excel.
|
Re: Office Mobile 2010 - Beta
I think most of the improvements are minor things like the scrolling neuteboomt mentioned, it works nicely, nothing earth-shattering, but it does work. I would like a bit more of the 'finger-friendly' feel MS is starting to adapt, but it is OK.
I have tried Sharepoint...not quite sure what a Sharepoint site is though. |
Re: Office Mobile 2010 - Beta
Its great that Microsoft is keeping up with the Desktop.

Re: Office Mobile 2010 - Beta
I was hoping to track down where/if a CAB was downloaded to the phone, but I can't find one...any ideas?

Re: Office Mobile 2010 - Beta
GREAT!!!! Thanks for posting it. Do you know if it has storage area-installation available?

Re: Office Mobile 2010 - Beta
this dates out in april 2010 - then you will have to buy it? or it seems if your phone came preloaded you wont ? do custom roms with it loaded count as pre loaded or will we lose it in april ??? my phone rom came preloaded and my custom rom had it built in - confusing

Re: Office Mobile 2010 - Beta
It should come as a free update when it goes gold. It dates out because they don't want people using Beta's forever for more than 1 reason.

Re: Office Mobile 2010 - Beta
From the description, I think that even though this is labeled as beta, that it is not something that you need to renew, or will expire, and I think the final (that may change, but right now the only thing I can see that may change is the non touch-screen version.

Re: Office Mobile 2010 - Beta
syrguy,
Sharepoint is a MS product that they use as like a company website that you can configure to have as your one stop shop for all of your work related documents, updates, calendars and things like that. Some have made them external facing for their customers to use, but from my experience they are internal sites used to create a centralized location for information. |
Re: Office Mobile 2010 - Beta
Thanks for the info kuluminati..I have been trying to read a bit about it, and eventhough it doesn't look like anything I will use, it does look pretty cool for the real 'power-users'!!!!
|
Re: Office Mobile 2010 - Beta
it has its pros and cons like everything else. For end users in a large organization it would be great.. For the things they need all users to see and what not. I have actually been using Sharepoint for something around 4 years now. It has come a long way from when it first started thats for sure.

Re: Office Mobile 2010 - Beta
I'm simply happy that "large" (~200k+) word documents open WAAAY faster.
That's reason enough for me. |
Re: Office Mobile 2010 - Beta
Just my 2 cents on a cool new feature.
One of the new features of Office 10 beta is Powerpoint Companion. Basically your Winmo device becomes a portable wireless (via bluetooth) presenter. Not only can you control the PP presentation, you can set it up so that the Notes slides appear on your handheld simultaneously. I've been waiting for something like this for a LOOOOONG time! For those who do Powerpoint presentations, it definitely is worth checking out. BTW, you don't have to upgrade to Office 10 beta on your PC. It works with PowerPoint 2007. I tried it and it seems to work well. I'll follow up when I actually use it in a work setting. |

This looks cool.
If this screenshot is of WM6.5, then it must be the com 2 branch. |
Re: Office Mobile 2010 - Beta
Has anyone tried the the OneNote multiple folder/cloud syncing yet? I'm a Onenote junkie, and this will be a HUGE benefit (...if it works well).

Re: Office Mobile 2010 - Beta
Hm. Unfortunately, that zapped my Mobile version of OneNote... Thanks for posting it, though--I'll keep looking...

Re: Office Mobile 2010 - Beta
Will the cab included here install on a WM 6.1 phone? (Or only 6.5?)
Is OneNote mobile much improved in this 2010 version? So far, I have not used OneNote because, although the desktop version looks cool, the mobile version (for instance, the version that comes on my WM 6.1 phone) is sorely lacking. For instance, you cannot sync all your notebooks to it, but only the special "mobile notebook". And--no possibility of note encryption in OneNote Mobile 2007, which to me is a dealbreaker. (I use phatnotes, which has encryption.) Has that been remedied in OneNote Mobile 2010? |
