backing up and restoring programs

hello all, i have a question and im hoping that someone will be willing to take the time to explain some things to me and help me out...ok, im not completely new to winmo phones but i am new to flashing to new roms...i love the idea that people can build their own roms and that we can all flash from one rom to another...my question is this...is there an easy to use application that will allow me to backup all of my programs and setting and tranfer them to another rom...i would like to use something like spb backup to do this but ive heard that everything does not get tranfered to the new rom corrctly...ive heard about two programs like this (xda uc custimizer and sdconfig) but to be completely honest, what i read i wasnt able to comprehend let alone actually perform...so again, will someone please help me with my issue..thanks again for anyone willing to help out

sashimi is much like xda uc/uc but i much easier to figure out. honestly its put your cabs in a folder, run sashimi, and it will do the rest. you can get it HERE but you have to register on the site to download. comes with youtube tutorial videos that walk you thru it step by steps well.
