Compatability issues or user error?
I recently downloaded weatherpanel and pocket sportscenter to use on my Treo 750 (at&t) running wm5... I'll admit that I'm really a noob when it comes to this thing, even though I work for big blue...
The issue is... It'll work fine for about 2 hours, then when it goes to update, it'll lock everything up on my phone... I've noticed that if I'm running just WP, It doesn't freeze up as easily as with just PSC... but nonetheless its still freezing up...The only fix for this is a hard reset, in which case I have to go through the hassle of reloading everything that doesn't affect the phone's performance Could the issue be that it freezes when the cycle of both pieces of software are trying to sync at the same time, or are the two just not compatable? Are there better titles I should try? I don't like paying for new stuff that might now work... so either freeware or very very cheap... help a nooblet out... |
Bongkey...many of us run both WP and PocketSportsCenter (PSC) at the same time with no problems.
First...it sounds like WP is freezing for you...correct? Seoncd, where did you install WP and PSC? WP needs to be installed in your device memory though you can install the icon sets on your storage card. I've loaded PSC on to my storage card and have had no problems. What are you update intervals for both WP and PSC? Make sure that you don't have any other programs running in the background. Are you trying to download a large number of weather cams/traffic cams? What did you set your purge time at for the images? Get back to us on these questions. late, Coz Did you |
Both programs are installed on the device...
Yes, WP is freezing on me, as is PSC... I believe the PSC interval is set to 2 minutes, and WP is set to 1 hour updates and 12 hour dumps... I'm only updating the weather radar, no traffic cams No other programs are running in the background, save for occasional checking of gmail using IE, and the process being halted immediately when I end it... Thoughts? |
Drop that PSC interval to like 15 or 30 mins and see if the problem continues.
