TCPMP 072rc1 pre-modded for wm6 CAB

I rebuilt the TCPMP cab to install every known plugin (including the recently updated flash video one for youtube) as well as built in the WMV9 plugins and appropriate codec files (into the /WINDOWS/) folder.

Its pretty beefy at 5 megs but there it is.

Dont forget to change the directdraw setting to buffer, but works perfectly with video and streaming ORB video.

-Enjoy!

Can this be installed on the flash card, or should it be installed on system memory?

Also, there's a post on TCPMP .81 http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=9539 . Does .81 have any advantages over .79?

installing a media player on a storage card is just a bad idea.

.81 has a ton of bugs and is unofficial. This one is more stable, official, and has all of the plugins that initially were exclusive to 81 ported over properly. I would stay away from 81.

Sorry, but could you please explain where you change the directdraw setting to buffer? I am just not awake yet :)

Thanks!

Thanks!

Open the TCPMP, click on "options" scroll up to "video" and click "Raw FrameBuffer"

Remember this only applies to WM6, if you install this on WM5 you dont need to make that change.

Does anyone know if this works on Helmi's WM 6 for Apache? I am running Verizonguy A3's version and installed this, and now I have 2 icons in my Programs folder, one for Player and one for TCPMP, but both show up as .81 under about, and neither works with Orb streaming... :( Also, I installed to device, not storage card.

Any ideas?

i think this is an issue that came up with the way that stage6/divx web player reformated their player. you can still do it (i think). let me tell you how i approached it.
i used to watch stage6 when i was bored. worked great. then, it stopped working. after oodles of looking around, it turns out that they've changed something. so, what they 'say' to do it note the video number of the file that you are trying to load. then put that number into www.stage6.com/video/numberhere/.divx

i haven't tried it yet. but, that's what they said to do. let me know if it works.

what i would like to know is if they've gotten 3g2 files to work, or whatever it was that was the extension on vid/pic mail. when i get a incoming vid from a friend, i go to sprint's site, and try and load it. then tcpmp barfs. so, i have to save the file, open up the mobile wmp, find the file i saved, and load that. takes too long, imho

Make sure you have enough room, and that any old versions have been uninstalled and deleted before installing... (You may have to soft boot after uninstalling...)
