Hi everyone,

I’m glad to present to you the first publish release of my GPS Map/Tracking software, I’ve been working on for the last few months.

Just another GPS software, you are wondering? Yes. I didn’t find any software that fits exactly my needs, so I decided to make my own.

Here it is: NaviComputer v0.5


Here are the most import features:

MapDownload:
NO dataplan needed. Download maps with the included PC Program “NaviMapper”. Up to now the following (multi layer) maps are fully supported:
GoogleMaps
GoogleSattelite
GoogleTerrain
OpenStreetMap
OpenStreetOSM
YahooMap
YahooSatellite
VirtualEarthMap
VirtualEarthSatellite
VirtualEarthHybrid
You can easily choose which zoomlevels to download. Per map you will get only one file, easy to handle and small in size. Installed maps and zoom levels will be detected automatically.

Track Recording
Record your tracks and view statics like duration, distance, AverageSpeed and Altitude Graph. Your route is displayed on the map
GPX Export/Import
Export your tracks as GPX file and import GPX files to be displayed on the map

Finger Friendly UI
Smooth map scrolling,….

Supported devices
WM 6.1 or 6.5, .NET CF 3.5, Internal GPS
Up to now only VGA and WVGA is supported. Maybe I will add support for QVGA/WQVGA (if you are interested in that)
Tested successfully on HTC devices Diamond and Diamond2 and Samsung Omnia I8000

Coming up in next versions
- Extended GPX / POI management
- Extended Track Statistics
- Improve NaviMapper (stability, extended feautures in map management, draw routes and download them to the device...)
- Support for magnetic Compass
- …

Installation:
Connect your device to Active Sync and run the attached Setup_NaviComputer.exe
This will install NaviComputer on your device and NaviMapper on your PC.

I would love to try it, but I'm on an Omnia i910 (WQVGA), just looking at the screens and reading the functionality, I'm pretty impressed.

This is exactly what I'm looking for, I do not have a data connection and have been looking for a mapping/gps built in..

when trying to run on my diamond I keep getting an error:

missingmethodexception
file or assembly name
'system.windows.forms,version=3.5.0.0, culture=neutral, publickey token=969db8053d3322ac', or one of its dependecies, was not found



got any help for this?

Is there a way to lookup for an address? Do you know of any programs that do the same thing as yours, but it is also to lookup an address? Thanks.
