Conflipper's weather DB dead...alternative?
 

After about a week of not being able to update weather, I looked around and from what I saw in a few threads the site was shut down because of all the traffic. Now I'm stuck with weather from 80 miles away again=(

Anyone have a good alternative that will get me my custom weather info back?

Oh, and no, he's not dead. My bad, didn't know it was a real person=P

Most, if not all, of the roms out have location based (GPS) weather built in now so there is no need for conflippers weather DB.

And if you want to drive a city over 30 min away and want to know the weather? or wake up and have to go to work a city away?

After reading the thread you posted fred, I am inclined not to install it. There are too many issues with Windows Mobile 6.5, it redirects to a server that may not always be there, and there were problems with uninstall such as not being able to get weather at all afterward.

I think there is a link here on the forums detailing how to edit the database yourself, but I cannot find it.

Also, Conflipper provides the PHP needed to point this to your own servers, we should get more folks running it so that we have MANY servers to choose from in case one goes down, and then one of the Gurus here can create a small app to easily change your server.

dang, I would host the files, if there is anyway to get them, and have someone recab this app to point to the URL. Anyone know hot to get to conflipper, since he (apparently doesnt do phones anymore?)?

Same thing for me, I just uninstalled it and put in GPS Weather Radar.
No forecasts on it, but, closest city is 20 miles away on the Manilla weather, good enough.

Conflipper has gotten out of the tweaking business and went professional. I'm sure he's removed all of his things. He also sold some of his sites ;)
