Thanks to Captain Throwback for posting this on EDTP and Conflipper for making it. Here's a link to the thread with the cab=D>: http://www.everythingdiamond.info/showpost.php?p=11661&postcount=582

There have been been at least 3 builds since the original Opera 9.7 beta came out a couple months ago. Here is latest one available via cab. Also here is a great link to all Opera Mobile versions and is always updated with the latest and greatest. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=486502

Good luck and let's report back on how it responds! This is a WVGA/VGA cab by the way.
**will keep up the previous build as well in case anyone want it still.

works with vga and wvga, this is from a newer leo test rom, not the 1.24 one.
Thanks to con for posting the oem/ext for this.

How can we transfer our favorites from Opera 9.5 to Opera 9.7?

Any way to install this over the official 9.7 beta so I can have this and 9.5? Right now this is overwriting my 9.5 install.

Hi, It may be because an opera process in running in the background. you can try closing the opera9.exe process using fdctaskmanager or the built in task manager. not sure if the built in tm will allow you to do this but fdc task manager will let you. this may fix the problem. Hope this works.

Didn't work on my touch pro at all. I had to go back to the official build. Just wouldn't start at all after installing.

I successfully installed it on my Touch Pro, but this new version of Opera isn't behaving well. Text wont resize to fit the screen and the scroll wheel zoom is broken. I'm likely to remove it very soon. :-(

My only objection to Opera is the exceedingly small font - even the largest is just too small to use comfyly for me.

How do you remove it and restore the old Opera? This one seems to replace all the old files!

I restored my device to the pervious days backup using Spb Backup. I wouldn't own a Windows Mobile device without utilizing some kind of backup software! Saved my butt countless times from having to perform hard resets.

my favorite app to bring you back to previous settings is Start>Settings>System>Clear Storage :) just kidding.

regarding this version, it was pulled from the leo I believe so there is no support for the scroll wheel. I like some of the improvements they have made but there are some problems with this one as well.

thanks Groove! question I've been meaning to ask. when you use this ext, should you still convert it if you use it in another visual kitchen by sending it through the ext builder? also, should you change the name. for example if someone is using Internet-Opera Mobile 9.7.xxxx should you change the title to this before adding it in the ext folder. sorry for the noobish question but I wondered about whether this is necessary or just convert it and dump it in with whatever name its called. thanks.

No you done need to send it through again, once its converted, its ready to go. You done need to rename it either, caulk just does that to keep things more organized it.

I installed it on my TP, no backup software. So I'm screwed? Because Opera won't launch now. Is there any way to get it to run properly?

Uninstall it, then find a 9.5 build online here somewhere and install that. Should restore it to what you had before pretty much.

From my limited the 9.7 Operas have a way to mature before they can compete with the best of the 9.5 builds.

I believe it's because these builds are taken from a device that doesn't have the scroll wheel. Sorry but that's the best explanation I have at this time. Also, there is another 9.7 build out there. will post it in the first post. :)

Ok initial impressions. better than the last one. Scroll wheel allows you to scroll down the pages which is nice but no zooming with it. it seems to run very smoothly. the transitional page going back is very cool.
For Diamond users, It still will not allow you to save files to internal storage. What is does is create an internal storage folder in device memory so this is not good for us memory starved I Storage users. Also I get errors streaming videos which I dont get with 9.5 builds. Not sure why but it errors out where as the 9.5 builds take you right to htc streaming media player. try youtube mobile to see what I mean. pic attached.
