Live TV?

How can I find live TV streams on my phone? Have spent las few hours google-ing and have really come up blank as far as even just local fox, cbs, abc, nbc, etc. not looking for free cable or what not. Sprint TV gives old epesodes from way back and the are highlights. Want to watch local news while eating lunch, or go outside while kids watch movies. no wifi please.

The only thing that comes to mind is a slingbox. I tried all of the other "free tv" apps including Spb and nothing works. You only get public access channels. The only thing is you need to buy a slingbox but the great thing is that all phones support it if you change phones.

Not looking for pay now, regret later app. I paid for smartmovie, with lifetime support and download last year, and I haven't used it in 6 months. full screen media player and tcpmp play vids better and I don't even have movies to play anymore. All movies were warez and i didn't want to have them, so i deleted them and haven't searched for more. Looking for legal, and free.

If you have a computer with a TV tuner card, you can use Orb to stream live TV, among other content. http://www.orb.com

Otherwise, the Slingbox is the way to go.

slinbox is best bet...one time hardware fee than no other costs associated with it...you can watch anything on your cable system at home, as well as recorded shows, set recordings remotely, etc...their streaming technology is really good...

Hi,

I have looked at some TV applications for Windows Mobile and made a blog post out of it:

To me SPB TV was the best and it works over a EVDO connection.
Hope that helps.

Slingbox works great. :)

Oh you mean technically? Others may say it better but give it a feed in your home. For example I have my cable DVR feed my TV via HDMI but I have a component feed also going to the slingbox. (You can use it as a passthrough also).

Then I have a wired ethernet connection from the slingbox to my router.

When I run slingplayer on any PC or my phone it finds my player on my router then that device watches whatever the slingbox is watching at home. In addition it has an IR so that when I tell the player to send a command to the slingbox it sends the command to my DVR via the IR.

So I can be sitting with my phone watching live TV, changing the channel at will, then send a command to bring up the shows recorded on the DVR and play. Or as someone said to instruct my DVR to record an upcoming show. I use it a lot on my laptop in a hotel room when I travel or I'll record a game I can't listen to live then start it on my phone when I get in the car and listen as I drive.

It's real one of technologies I've found that meets and exceeds the promise or hype. Worth every penny so far.
