Textr Threaded SMS
 

This is a great article for you guys who're beyond obsessed with threaded sms. (Personally I don't even bother with it because I don't have a use for it.)

Textr works quite similar to the palm threaded sms program that people were pulling their hair out due to the fact it wasn't working initially with WM6 on the apache. Major points of the program are that it gives you that good old fashioned instant messaging style, allows you to assign images to phone numbers, works with both WM5 and WM6, and is extremely user friendly for those new to using mobile devices.

It's free to try for 21 days, but like all the great software (well most of it anyhow), you'll have to drop a small one time fee of $14.95 to keep using it.

only prob with textr is that when receiving a text it takes 5 seconds plus for the chat style window to open. trianglepowers.com has a good threaded texter as well as codys threaded texter over at xda. both free.

Would this open up instantly if I left the program running in the backgorund?

I cant try the software unfortunately, it says the trial is over.

I have the palm threaded app from this site... I have a quick question that I can't figure out... How do you change the notification sound for incoming texts? I change it in the settings menu, but it doesn't apply to the threaded texts.

Help please.

My Advice:

Skip Textr

It looks very nice but it requires lots of memory (+6mb on WM5) and requires a lot of system memory to run.

If they can get away from .NET CF 2 and SQL, it'd be much nicer.

Right now though, Palm Threaded or PocketCM are both better options.

Can I hit my mail button and see the conversations with pocketcm?

Tried in on WM6 on my Mogul and it is a RAM hog. Using cody's Palm app for now.

It looks promising, but is still a little way off from being the app I would use. I am also not a fan that it starts up in fullscreen after a soft reset and hopefully they can find a way to reduce its memory imprint.

No...you need to open PocketCM and hit the button for contacts with sms...

it real simple. go to Today -> Settings -> Sound and Notificatins -> Notifications -> click the drop down menu under event and there should be an option saying "Messaging:New Message(Palm Messaging)

I downloaded it, but it immediately said that my trial had expired. And I couldn't get any tech support for help. That throws a red flag for me. And it looks SO good too!
