HTC Wifi Router Problem
I installed the HTC Wifi Router on my new TP2, and I am trying it out for the first time.
When I click start, I get a pop up box saying "There is no available internet connection. Do you want to set up the internet connection?" If I click Yes, it takes me to the Connection Settings, but I don't know where to go from here. I already have installed a cab that does ICS and WModem fix and I was able to share my internet with my home PC via USB yesterday. I just noticed when I got into the Comm Manager, the Data Connection is turned off, but I can use my phone as normal. My data is working properly. Not sure what else to do to fix? |
Re: HTC Wifi Router Problem
only thing i can think of is to make sure wifi is turned on when you do the install of wifirouter. hope that helps.

Re: HTC Wifi Router Problem
I searched, and I ran across this screenshot.
http://wmpoweruser.com/wp-content/up...ifirouter1.png Mine doesn't have anything listed underneath the Internet Connection Setting. I have a feeling my internet connection is the culprit. The only connection I have in my connections is one called Sprint, and it uses the Cellular Line. I just looked at my TP1 at the Wifi Settings, and it is set up as DATA under cellular connection. Also, when I fire up Wife Router, it recognizes DATA as an internet connection. I've tried to add another internet connection called DATA to see if Wifi Router would work with it, but it still has not fixed the issue. |
Re: HTC Wifi Router Problem
just to be clear:
This program uses your PHONES data connection and routes it via WIFI to any wifi device, like a laptop basically it turns your phone into a wifi router using your phone data account for the internet |
Re: HTC Wifi Router Problem
When it said that for me("No internet connection"), I clicked yes. I went to manage my "work network" connection and there was nothing on the modem tab. I added a new connection with #777 and just keep hitting next. This enabled my wifi router to work.

Re: HTC Wifi Router Problem
Good try, but that didn't work for me. I guess I'll have to hard reset again to and install this first to see if something else was the culprit.
