GPS Activated WiFi?

Hey all.

Ive been wondering about 3g usage. 3g is always available, but WiFi is not. For the sake of when we want to conserve 3g data kb usage, is there a way we can create zones for our gps to detect when to turn wifi on and (software that does this). Anybody know or have any idea of seeing software like this?

Re: GPS Activated WiFi?

G-Profile does this, it pretty much does everything actually. It is amazing software that can control volume, ring type, ring tone, turn radios on and off, launch applications, rotate screen, etc.. It does this based on time, equipment being connected, such as headset, power, activesync, certain programs being launched, and even location. The bad part is that it uses cell-id location, which does not work with CDMA. Even still, its really a must have for Windows Mobile.

Honestly though, to do something like you are talking about with GPS, would probably use more battery than just leaving the WiFi on all day long. Aniyways, you should definetly check out G-Profile.
