how do i connect pocket outlook to outlook web access

I was just curious if anyone were to how to connect pocket outlook from the touch pro to a corporate account through web access. Im one of the low level retail associates with enterprise rent a car. im also majoring in networking/security and like to play with technology. so with that said, its not necessary but thought it would be fun to try to connect my phone to my work email. i think im entering in the right info but i keep getting error messages. if any has any info to try and help me accomplish this it would be much appreciated.

hey Ridley,

I'm not sure if this is something you can do. I'm in a similar situation. i work for a large corp but I'm one of the smaller fish without a bb. I tried linking my corp outlook account to my phone wihthout success. They need to allow you on the server. You are probably able to do the same thing I do now which is access outlook web through your browser. This has limited functionality but it works for checking and sending basic e-mails. I'm still interested in finding a solution to this as well. I never tried linking the outlook web access though. Good luck!

this can be done using a service like Seven or any other service which polls an OWA service on your behalf. there's another application that does this on your own PC, but you have to keep the PC on and it directly depends on that computer.

either way, there are some security issues that your company may have objections with and i found it a bit strange to have another company have my work email/password. i also found it to be a burden to have email all the time on my phone.

if you really want to do it i would recommend Seven. the beta works well and it allows you to look up corporate contacts.

For my work, I hooked up via activesync to my pc, then setup the device so the server address was my companies owa address plus "/oma" at the end.

Hope this helps.

I also use Seven however I used to use the Outlook Exchange account just fine for work and it was surprisingly easy. Your employer may vary. I recall using the ActiveSync Add Server Source function (though I think you can set it up in Outlook also) and simply putting in my userid, password for the domain name is the URL I use for webmail. In my case that was webmail.xxx.com (xxx of course being my company). It just did the rest and it worked great.

I went to Seven when I wanted to use Google Sync which also uses the one and only exchange account so I had to choose between Google Sync and work. Seven allowed me to do both and not use the outlook account at all. Now I have Seven manage my work and two Gmail accounts.

For those interested, check this out...

http://www.chronobis.com/
What is Chronobis?

Chronobis is a FREE Outlook Web Access (OWA) to Windows Mobile device synchronization program. It connects directly to OWA from your Windows Mobile device and does not require any special permissions or options to be enabled by your company's IT department. If you can access Outlook Web Access (OWA) from a public internet connection, you can sync Exchange calendar to your PocketPC (PPC) device using Chronobis. Chronobis also runs completely self-contained on your Windows Mobile device, no need to install software on your desktop, work computer, or use any "3rd party service".

Doesn't Chronobis only sync one way? OWA => Phone, specifically..
